Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

This policy covers safargb.com and the SafarGB Android app (package pk.safargb.app). It describes exactly what we collect, why, and how to have it removed. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

What the website collects

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. It records which pages are viewed and how far down, roughly where visitors are (country and city), their device and browser, how they found us, and clicks on links that leave the site, including our WhatsApp, email and phone buttons. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that last up to two years. It doesn't see anything you type into our forms or into WhatsApp, and we don't use it for advertising: Google's advertising features are switched off.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, these analytics cookies stay off and Google receives only cookieless measurements. Anywhere, you can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on. We run no advertising pixels and no session recording.

When you submit a journey request through a booking form, we receive:

  • your name, as you type it
  • your WhatsApp number, where the form asks for it
  • the journey, departure date or window, and number of travellers
  • any notes you choose to add
  • a reference code we generate (for example SGB-XXXXXX)

We do not ask for and never store card or payment details on this website. There is no checkout here — deposits are arranged directly with your concierge once a journey is confirmed.

The "Inner Circle" field passes the address you type into a pre-filled WhatsApp message. It is not saved to a mailing list on our servers; the record is the WhatsApp conversation you choose to send.

What the app collects

The SafarGB app is a ride-hailing service, so it needs more than the website does:

  • Precise location — to place you on the map, match you with nearby drivers and track a trip in progress. For drivers who are online, location updates continue in the background via a foreground service while they are available for work, because that is what dispatch requires. It is used for the ride service only.
  • Name, email and phone number — to create and operate your account.
  • Driver documents — drivers upload CNIC and licence photographs for manual verification. These are held in private storage, are not publicly readable, and are used solely to approve a driver.
  • In-app messages — the chat between rider and driver during a trip.
  • Ride history and a push-notification token, to deliver ride updates.

Rides are paid in cash directly to the driver. The app contains no advertising and takes no in-app payments.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. It is shared only where the service cannot work otherwise:

  • Between a matched rider and driver, during an active ride only — first name and contact number, so you can find each other. Contact details are not browsable by other users at any other time.
  • Supabase, which hosts our database and authentication.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you contact us there, that conversation is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy as well as this one.
  • Google Analytics (Google), which measures how the website is used, as described above. How Google handles that data is explained in its policy for sites that use its services.
  • Open-Meteo, which supplies the live forecast cards. Those requests carry the coordinates of the destination you are reading about — Skardu, Hunza and so on — never your own location.
  • Hotels, airlines, charter operators and guides — only the details needed to hold a specific booking you have asked us to make.
  • Where we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Journey requests are kept while we are arranging your travel and afterwards as a record of the trip. Ride records in the app are kept as your trip history. Driver verification documents are kept while a driver is active on the platform. Website analytics are kept for 14 months, then deleted by Google. If you ask us to delete your data, we do — see below.

Seeing or deleting your data

Write to [email protected] and ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. Tell us the reference code or the phone number you used so we can find the right record. We will act on it and confirm when it is done.

App accounts can also be deleted from inside the app, or by emailing the same address from the address on the account.

Children

Neither the website nor the app is directed at children, and the app is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we will change this page and update the date at the top. Material changes to the app's data handling are also reflected in the app's Google Play data-safety declaration.
